Marine Aquarium 3, as you may guess, is the third major rendition of this screen saver. It has been created by Master Artist Jim Sachs who has a long history of creating some of the most stunning computer graphics for many programs going all the way back to the Commodore 64.
The screensaver may be run as a full-blown screen saver or may be run in "windowed" mode and left running while you work. The fish in the screensaver aren't just running in a loop. Each fish is a separate 3 dimensional object and each fish is programmed individually. In version 3 of the program all of the background has also been created as individual 3D objects. Even the corals move realistically.
The program is still under construction and Mr. Sachs promises free upgrades to any purchasers and is adding new features every few weeks. The background is slowly coming alive. The fish will be re-worked and made even more realistic - hard to believe since they are so good now. And Mr. Sachs will eventually offer "creature packs" for a small additional fee which may include things like crabs, octopi, eels, etc.
