I use a Logitech Anywhere MX Anywhere 2s Mouse with my MacBook Pro 16" and occasionally its gesture button just stops working.
The behavior seems random; and I can't figure out what triggers the bug.
While restarting does make it work again, it's extremely annoying to have to close all my programs. Now I've found a much better way to get it working again.
Stopping the Logi Options Daemon process via Activity Monitor fixes it! You don't even have to re-open anything. After stopping the Daemon, it starts again on its own. It only takes a few seconds, and everything then works again!
Here are the steps:
- Open Activity Monitor (The easiest way to do so is to hold your Command key down and at the same time click the spacebar to open spotlight search. Then type "Activity Monitor".)
- Click on the process name column heading to sort by process name.
- Scroll and find the "Logi Options Daemon" process.
- Click once on the "Logi Options Daemon" process to highlight the process row.
- Click the "Stop" button in the top menu.
- The Logi Options Daemon process will disappear.
- Wait a moment and the Logi Options Daemon process will re-appear.
- Now the gesture button works again!
