I use the Leatherman Surge Multi-Tool more often than any other tool I own.
What really makes this my go-to tool is that I purchased the entire set: The Surge, Nylon Sheath, Bit Kit Set, and Driver. These add-ons really make this an incredibly useful tool in a very compact package.

I purchased my Surge set well over 10 years ago and it still works like new. About 3 years ago I bought the full Surge set for my son; and I'm a bit jealous of his because the Surge has undergone a few upgrades since I got mine, such as a better saw/file holder, slightly different screw drivers, and a much better design for the pliers including replaceable wire cutter blades.
I keep trying to find justification to upgrade my Surge after seeing his, but the differences are so minor, and the tool has held up like new. So, I think I might be stuck with my version for life. But that should tell you everything you need to know about this tool's reliability.
